Musical Theatre Workshops
  A MUSICAL WEEKEND AT THE HUMAN RACE
July 11-13, 2008
Three brand new musicals will all collide on the Loft stage the weekend of July 11 – 13, 2008, in what will be our most musical week ever! Our Musical Theatre Workshop will have two musicals in development being presented as staged readings, and our Summer Stock Teens program will be presenting their original musical, developed in cooperation with the Lovewell Institute.

Eight talented young people with local ties will be performing unusual auditions April 26 – unusual and very special. Instead of singing in front of a director or a college professor or two, they’ll be at The Loft Theatre downtown, in front of a crowd that will include one of the foremost musical theatre composers of our age. The eight are the finalists for the first Stephen Schwartz Musical Theatre Scholarships from The Human Race Theatre.

    5K RUN/WALK
April 26, 2008
Get some exercise as you support the performing arts! Each spring, The Human Race holds its annual “Join the Race” 5K Run/Walk along the banks of the Great Miami River in Downtown Dayton. Participants of all ages are welcome, with T-shirts for everyone and medals going to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners in each age group. Just for registering, each adult participant receives a ticket voucher to selected shows on the Loft Series.

AND THE TONY AWARD GOES TO...

What? You didn’t know? You can be front and center for the Tony Awards.

Okay, not in New York. But in Vandalia!

That’s right – The Human Race will present its third Annual Tony Awards Party Sunday, June 15, at the incredibly beautiful estate of Miles & Karen Brazie and Kirk Stager.

The event is a fundraiser for The Human Race Theatre Company and begins at 6:30pm, with live broadcast of the Tony Awards from New York at 8 pm. The entire evening is sponsored by Westminster Financial Companies.

You notice the date is Fathers’ Day? Well, what better way to treat dad and yourself than being served your favorite libation, indulging in a sumptuous spread of foods prepared just for you and mingling with friends from The Human Race. And in addition to all the food and drink and the thrill of the awards, there will be games, prizes and unique auction items.
