Culture Works is greater Dayton's United Arts Fund and Arts Council. Culture Works provides the resources necessary to ensure a stable and dependable base of support for our cultural assets. As a leader in arts and cultural development, Culture Works offers valuable services to the arts community, including professional development and technical assistance programs, promotional services, advocacy and grant-making. Culture Works raises and distributes the largest single source of private funding for the arts in Greater Dayton.
By establishing this fund, Erma Catterton provided a future for live, professional theatre in the Miami Valley.
Recognizing the role arts play in our quality of life, the Montgomery County Arts and Cultural District awards public funds on behalf of Montgomery County to support, nurture, and encourage the development and preservation of the arts and cultural heritage within the county.
The Shubert Foundation is dedicated to sustaining and advancing the live performing arts in the United States, with a particular emphasis on theatre and a secondary focus on dance. In service of this mission, we provide general operating support to not-for-profit, professional resident theatre and dance companies, as well as some arts-related organizations that help support their development. Grant recipients must have track records of artistic achievement, administrative strength and fiscal responsibility.
The Ohio Arts Council helped fund this organization with state tax dollars to encourage economic growth, educational excellence and cultural enrichment for all Ohioans.
